After the first two years, the cat's life proceeds more slowly in relation to human life and each feline year is approximately four human years.

The information in this chart is not without contention. There are many organizations and veterinarians that use different charting techniques to track cat age. There is a detailed cat aging chart compiled from many sources on the BBC website. It is quite different (and possibly more accurate.) It puts the cat’s age at 6 months at 11.5 years and cites 8 different sources to complie the results. One thing for sure, no one quite agrees!
